Q&A

Ill City (2008)

What’s for sale?
Digital versions of all released projects are for sale pretty much anywhere music is sold online (e.g. iTunes, Amazon, Zune, eMusic, Napster). I no longer sell CDs outside of limited editions that are distributed to the media and press. There is no merch for sale at the moment. Please let me know if you have cool ideas for merch that I should be selling.

What’s your latest project?
The full-length album ‘The Collection’. It was released on 01/11/2011.

What music gear and equipment do you use?
My hardware setup includes a Xeon Lenovo ThinkStation, 13″ MacBook, 11″ MacBook Air, Yamaha 88-Key Digital Piano, M-Audio 49-Key Controller, E-Mu 25-Key Controller, M-Audio Active Montiors (BX8a, BX5a), M-Audio Fast Track, Digidesign Mbox 2, Digidesign Mbox Micro, Rode NT2-A Condenser Mic, Stedman Metal Pop Filter, and Sony Headphones. Software setup includes Propellerhead Reason 5, Propellerhead Record 1.5, Pro Tools LE 8, Logic 8, Acid Pro 4, CD Architect, Celemony Melodyne DNA, and Audacity.

Are you open to collaborations?
Yes. Send me a link to your a public site where I can listen to your music, a few sentences on the type of collaboration you’d like to do, and the ballpark numbers for the project’s production and marketing budget.

How can I license your material?
I own all of the publishing and sound recording rights for all of the songs in my catalog. Working with me is fast, easy and pretty affordable. Contact me with details on your television, film, web, CD compilation or other project to start a dialogue. My digital distribution is handled through IODA in San Francisco.

Are you available for interviews?
Yes. Email and phone interviews for blogs and print publications are the easiest. Send me a short background on your company, your target audience, and goal for the story. Video interviews are less likely to happen, but contact me if you’re interested.

How do I get in contact with you?
You can reach me at illcity@phanbase.com.
